Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation is an evidence-based intervention that consists of providing clients with information related to what they want to work on in therapy. For example, a client might want to better understand

  • a new diagnosis that they received, or

  • a specific dynamic which appears to be getting in the way of their relationships, or

  • how specific elements of their past religion might have contributed to what they are currently thinking or experiencing.

Psychoeducation can include reading books or scientific articles, listening to audiobooks, or listening to podcasts. Speaking of psychoeducation, why not head over to my page on TED Talks on Religious Deconstruction or on Other Mental Health Subjects.
